Ratings - Box of Clockwork Grundos
Rating: | At a Glance (1/3): This cardboard box generates 1-4 clockwork grundos. The grundos that are made are: Blue Clockwork Grundo, Brown Clockwork Grundo, Red Clockwork Grundo, and Yellow Clockwork Grundo, all of which deal 9.667-15 icons of one element (air, earth, fire, and light respectively). In-Depth (2/4): This item is one of a handful of item generators in the battledome, giving players the ability to attack their opponent with a myriad of different mono-icon bombs. These bombs are powerful in that it would take a full blocker or a reflector to most effectively counter one, and you can easily swap out the grundos to get around your opponent's defenses! There are a few problems with the box. It takes a turn to receive a grundo, and the grundos are rather underpowered as single-use bombs. The box itself has nothing else to offer other than to generate grundos. Glittery Faerie Dust overshadows the box as it is also able to dish out a mix of massive mono-icon damage each turn. Additionally, its damage is always 15 icons (as opposed to the grundos' variable damage), making the faerie dust a more viable choice today. Price (0/2): This box is a retired hidden tower weapon, and a pretty rare one at that. And since the aforementioned faerie dust is roughly 8.5-9m, the box is basically not worth it's price. Bonus (1/1): Back in the day, this item would've been extremely fun to use. People barely could get 6 icon attackers, and this item pumps out 10+ bombs? Normally I'm not very fond of single-use weapons, but I have no problem with generating an endless supply of them! TNT needs to make generators... ▼ Read More ▼ |
Rating: | Price/Power (2/5) A fun little generator which allows for random levels of destruction which are weak, but hard to predict. Not great for use in combat, but still would be fun to play around with now and then. As with all generators the main issue is missing the extra turns to make and use items which are already underwhelming, however this does seem like one of the better ones. Countermeasures (1/5) There isnt much you can do here really, depending on the kind of grundo you could be up against fire, light, earth, air which is hard to guess which will be used when. The blasts are pretty weak, but hard to block. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades There are other item generators for sure, but I am not sure if I could say which you would want to move to one way or the other. Other Points (1 Bonus) A retired box of fun, though I could just be biased towards clockwork grundos. Final Thoughts tick tick tick BOOM all night long. Rated on May 27, 2013 |
