Ratings - Mallard Tape
Rating: | Price/power (1/5): Too expensive for what it does. Tactical (0/5): You need at least 9 icons these days. Earth and water are also easy to block. Bonus (1/1): Obvious reference to duct tape. Closing remarks: Get a Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer or a Throwing Cutlass instead. Rated on April 30, 2015 |
Rating: | Overview: Mallard tape is one of the items I wish would cut it because of how awesome it'd be to use in the Battledome. Unfortunately, it's just not worth using. The Good: This weapon was relatively cheap for those that were able to avoid the junk hyper-inflation. I also happen to think is looks pretty cool. The Bad: Mallard tape really isn't strong enough to be used in the Battledome. It can be overpowered with the super-cheap Unstable Slime, and of course gets lapped by Scroll of Ultranova. This is besides the fact that the Parasol of Unfortunate Demise and Leaf Shield are some of the most-often-recommended shields in the level of play where Mallard Tape could even be viable, and both completely destroy the tape. The Ugly Truth: While "duck tape" fixes everything, it apparently can't fix your Battledome lineup very well. Better to leave Mallard Tape in your safety deposit box, and bring a different cheap option with you to the Battledome. Rated on March 29, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/Power (0/5) If this was nearly as versatile as it's real world partner, it would be worth all the neopoints in the Neopian National. Countermeasures (0/5) Once this is on your neopet it is incredibly hard to pull off without causing slight discomfort. They do have a lot of hair you know! Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Throwing Cutlass or Frozen Water Daggers. Other Points (2 Bonus) Seriously. I have to give a duck tape bonus. I would be ashamed if I didn't. Final Thoughts TNT got tired of being asked to fix the battledome all the time and instead sent us out with a roll of mallard tape to fix it. Unfortunately, when stuck upon the enemy it just seems to do weak damage instead of actually making their HP increase... Rated on March 29, 2014 |
Rating: | At a Glance (0/3): Use the stickiness of this tape to rip 3 icons of water and earth off of your opponent! Ouch? In-Depth (0/4): Not only is this tape incredibly weak in terms of overall power (Sun and Moon Chakram is a 10-iconer that can be obtained for ~2k), but it is easily blocked by Parasol Of Unfortunate Demise, Oversized Maractite Rune Sword, and a number of other beginner earth/water dual duties and shields. Price (0/2): There's no price I can see that justifies a spot in any set due to it being outclassed by an assortment of cheap, beginner weapons, such as the aforementioned chakram and rune sword. As a "plevent" item, it will take a lot of them to drop the price below 2k, and even then, it's still not enouh. Bonus (1/1): It may not be fit for battle, but with some WD-40, you will surely fix ALL THE THINGS! Final Score: 1/10 Rated on March 27, 2014 |
