Ratings - Laser Pointer
Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (1/3): Dirt cheap. Not the worst offender if we go by that. Power (0/5): 7 icons is already bad. then 2 out of 3 icon types are easy to block, and the last one is in such a small amount it doesn't matter anyways. Uniqueness (0/2): Lots of worthless weapons like that. Overall try to distract your enemies with something else, like a Thick Smoke Bomb, and while you're at it, get a better weapon to actually fight.. Because of that its final rating is 1/10. Rating: | Overview: I feel like this weapon should have gotten +20 icons against wockies (like Lupe Chia Bomb vs Chias), because you could distract them by shining it on the wall. The Good: Anyone who was able to participate in the plot could look at Jellyneo's guide and get this in 5 seconds. It's not that great of a weapon but it was about as easy to get as your average daily. The Bad: These 7 icons, though well-rounded, aren't enough to get by in the Battledome. My golden standard for low-level weapons is the Scroll of Ultranova, and since this can be over-powered by it, and a host of cheap 9-iconers, I can't recommend this for anyone actually wanting to get some playing time in the dome. The Ugly Truth: While I love free plot prizes, especially when they're weapons, but I can't give tons of bonus ratings just for that. The laser pointer isn't the worst low-level weapon, but it's not quite competitive enough to be recommended. Rated on March 30, 2014 |
Rating: | Price/Power (1/5) This item is currently siting at 50x the price of the Electro Sword and is a plot item, meaning one day it may increase. Granted it is still cheap as- but I see no reason to recommend this for battling given how weak it is. Countermeasures (0/5) Blocked in part by the Lair Beast Tooth Shield or Wanderers Cloak, but is one of those items you really don't need to bother blocking. Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades Get an Electro Sword instead, unless you got this free and can't be bothered getting better. Personally I would suggest at least a Scroll of Ultranova. Other Points (2 Bonus) I at least like to encourage weapons being plot prizes, even if trash. Final Thoughts With so many better options out there, I see no reason why this should be used for anything other then shining in peoples e-*robotic overlay censor voice* presentation material *end of voice*. Better as a keepsake. Rated on March 29, 2014 |
Rating: Rating History ▼ | Price/power (0/5): Not very powerful, but at least it can be found cheaply... that is, until you realize that the Electro Sword can be found for as little as 1 NP. Tactical (1/5): Surprisingly hard to fully block, though it lacks power and is easily outclassed by weapons such as the Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer and Scroll of Ultranova. Somewhat vulnerable to the Lair Beast Tooth Shield. Bonus (1/1): Subtle reference to cats Closing remarks: Get one of the aforementioned weapons, a Scarab Ring, or anything else that's affordable and good. The Scroll of Ultranova is particularly potent at this price level. Rated on March 28, 2014. Updated April 1, 2014 |
