Value 3/3: 11 icons, buyable. Enough said.

Tactical 6/6: This is the best option for producing raw damage for low-tier battlers. It's a necessity in 1p battling and the raw power is still useful in 2p arenas, even though it is a little easier to block this weapon there.

This puts all icons through the Scarab Ring. This is important: Many other dual duties that take a chunk out of this can still only break even (at best) when they block some of this weapon's icons. That makes the icon spread of this weapon a less significant flaw.

Other 1/1: This weapon is best-in-class for 1p battling thanks to its raw power and still the weapon of choice for many 2p fights.

Conclusion: Sometimes there's less to say about the best weapons because they speak for themselves. That is the case with this weapon. Be aware that some of its icons are easily blocked in 2p, but that shouldn't stop you from buying one or two if your weapons are in the sub-500k range.

Overview: It's a solid 11 icons for those on a budget. The only downfall of this weapon is its icon spread.

The Good: It's available to buy on the Shop Wizard, what more could you ask for? If you find yourself in a slug fest in L97 or 500k battle, then you might as well use two of these, as they're cheap icons. A Scroll of Knowledge is also very viable in 1-player, where you can pick and choose your opponents, and won't be likely to pick an opponent that blocks big chuck of your scroll.

The Bad: Any dual duty worth its salt can beat or at least tie this. Just to name a few, Frozen Water Daggers, Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal, Ancient Gnarled Wand, Golden Compass, and Stocking Full of Coal all match or beat the Scroll of Knowledge, and most of those are cheaper. Also, all those dual duties I mentioned can be used in both L97 and 500k-limit tournaments.

The Ugly Truth: The Scroll of Knowledge is so cheap, that it's worth considering even if you think you'll run up against the dual duties that hurt it. As for raw power, you're not going to do better for the price.

Price/Power (4/5)
I am sure it has nothing to do with us but the recent popularity rise of this item caused the price to rise DRAMATICALLY. Too dramatically when you consider that it only offers 1 icon more on the cheaper Scroll of the Scholar or Scroll of the fool.

Countermeasures (4/5)
Another item mostly blocked by the Tower Shield. Luckily as I have said with all these scrolls that are blocked by this, there are little chance of even running into one of these. Besides that they could only block one scroll not two.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Any of the other scrolls like Scroll of the Scholar or Scroll of the Fool would work. From here you can upgrade to one of the 12.6+ plot items or a Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy.

Other Points (No Bonus)

Final Thoughts
And you waste all the knowledge in the universe on this? Why not write some amazing insight into the fundamental parts of the universe?

Power: 5/5
A buyable 11 iconer, here goes icon inflation at it's best. Let's be honest, this is pretty much *the* weapon to get as starter unless you're super short on money in which case you may want to consider the weaker but essentially free Scroll of Ultranova.

Counters: 3/3
Yes, most common starter shields like Leaf Shield will take a big bunch out of this, but let's be honest: if you grab this you'll use it in 1p and it's unlikely your opponent will block a lot of it. However even in 2p dual-wielding this gives a nice spread of icons with enough of each to get a big punch through most shields.

Uniqueness: 1/1
Being spread across 5 icon types and still being surprisingly useful this is a great thing to have.

Bonus: 0/1
Unfortunately due to being so cheap and awesome those tend to inflate very fast when needed. Better grab yours while supplies last.

A buyable 11 iconer? What has Neopets come to? :P

Scroll of Knowledge deals 11 icons; that is simply superb. In terms of raw power, nothing in its price range can top it.

However, a word of caution. This weapon deals too many icon types. A weapon that deals 5 of 7 icon types is just asking to be partially blocked. When I say this I do not just mean this for 2-Player battling, but for 1-Player as well. I know experienced battlers like to say that "icons type don't matter in 1-Player," but this is only partially true. 1-Player opponents each have their own unique defense, but still have defenses nonetheless. It is highly likely that even 1-Player opponents will trim down Scroll of Knowledge's attack because of its wide variety. When battlers say that icon types do not matter in 1-Player, what they mean is that there are no unanimously popular shields for computer opponents like there are for players, meaning a weapon is not more or less desirable for its icon types in 1-Player.

Weapons like Ramtors Spellbook and Rusty Cleaver are ultimately better for their fewer icon types and larger quantities of their icon types, but Scroll of Knowledge earns its 9 out of 10 rating for its low price and brute force, not its spread.

Power/Price (5/5): This weapon has an absolutely insane icon to price ratio. A perfect weapon for newbies looking to deal a lot of damage at a low cost.

Countermeasures (4/5): Only 4 icons are blocked by Leaf Shield, 6 icons blocked by Shiny Shoal Shell Shield and 8 icons blocked by virtupets X-514 super shield. The Scrolls wide range of icons helps it against the more common shields and full blockers but it falls short if your opponent owns a virtupets X-514 super shield. One of the most popular beginner tier weapons, the scarab ring, does not defend any icons against Scroll of Knowledge.

In 1-player fights, this weapon shines. It's a must for newer battlers because of the amount of icons it deals and the wide range of icon types.
In 2-player fights, this weapon can be stopped by very specific shields, if your opponent is not expecting the Scroll of Knowledge, it may be very difficult to stop.

Alternative: Scroll of the Scholar
Downgrade: Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer
Upgrade: Ylanas Blaster, Altador Cup Throwing Star

I am giving this weapon a 9/10, it is an amazing weapon for newer battlers. The wide icon type range prevents the weapon from being easily blocked by most of the common beginner shields and the Scarab Ring. The icon range also helps newbies understand how the battledome works which in my opinion is a big plus.
