Rating: | It’s 2023, and stealing has been broken in the Battledome for 10 years now :( This rating is to intentionally tank the average score for this item; I will update my review if stealing ever gets fixed. Rated on October 4, 2023 |
Rating: | At a Glance (2/3): 60% chance to steal one weapon, while giving the hand to your opponent. Pretty good stealer. In-Depth (3/4): Stealing is crippling, especially now that in the new BD, it can steal ANY weapon in your opponent's set (at the moment, however, stealers are broken and can't at all)! You cannot counter this like before, when it would only steal the first item in your set. It's unfortunate that you can miss or get into a stealing war with your opponent, but success with this will disorientate your opponent, stealing a key component and creating a weakness that you can exploit (like stealing your opponent's strongest constant, or swiping their healer). Price (2/2): Costing only ~20k, this is significantly cheaper than Rainbow Sticky Hand, which only grants 80%. Heavy Robe of Thievery is also a good bit more expensive, and requires a swift pet, but grants a 100% success rate. Bonus (1/1): Seriously, if you're a poorer battler, or even a rich battler, there's nothing more fun than grabbing a cool weapon and using it against your opponent. You'd be like Megaman, except they also can do it back to you. I wonder what would happen in the new BD after a stealing war totally scrambles the two combatant's sets? Rating: Rating History ▼ | Stealing has been broken for- well- forever now. So this item will have its rating reduced until it is fixed. If somehow it has been fixed and you notice this, please report the bug so I can change this review back. Price/Power (5/5) There is no better stealing item for this price at this time. A 60% stealing rate for this cost is huge and there is plenty of supply left around due to this being an advent item. While this represented slightly better value back when they were only 3-4k, even now the next highest upgrade is impossible to get. Countermeasures (3/5) As with all sticky hands this has the major downfall of going to the enemy after it steals. This may be considered a particularly bad trait, however ever since random stealing was implemented there is little defense besides blind luck to stop this item ruining a players set. Alternatives, Upgrades or Downgrades Realistically there is no reason to downgrade to any other stealer other then this. While the Yellow Sticky Hand may still offer good value in comparison to the other sticky hands, there is little reason to hold back the extra NP and not get this one. As for upgrades, the best upgrade is the Heavy Robe of Thievery which is invaluable if you have the stats to support it. Other Points (Too High) While the rating of this is already too high for me to really give bonus points, and it is too good to remove points... I do like retired items. Just saying. Final Thoughts A brilliant stealer, and one of the best (if not the best) Battledome items given out by the advent calendar to date. Rated on November 20, 2012. Updated December 27, 2016 |
