Price/Power (0/5)
Reflection can be handy, but not at this tiny level of power.

Countermeasures (0/5)
50% of one icon is not enough, I doubt you will come across many Sword of Thigls to make this worth using.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Realistically there is little point in going for a light reflector until the level of the Superior Reflection Shield. But if you need to reflect a low level of light, at least get a Craftsmans Lens. If you just need to block light, just get a Parasol of Unfortunate Demise.

Final Thoughts
While it is good that these lens were finally released, I don't think anyone ever expected them to be useful.

Overview: I really hate this weapon because I always think I've struck gold with the Kings Lens when I get it from the shrine.

The Good: This is by far the cheapest usable reflector. If 1p with health increase ever comes back, this could be better, but right now it's pretty much a very conditional last resort.

The Bad: 50% reflection is a losing battle. Even if your opponent pulls out dual Sword of Thigl, and you pair this with a Thyoras Tear, you'd still only deal 15 unmatched icons. But in this case, if you have the neopoints for that, you can probably afford a hidden tower sword to dish out more damage. And in the event you can't, in a 2p battle you could pull out a Flask of Liquid Light or Flask of Liquid Fire for some consistent icons for when your opponent changes constants.

The Ugly Truth: For the 10np or less this usually costs (unless you get it free at Coltzan's Shine), it's worth throwing in your SDB just in case. But for now, with the Battledome in its current state, the Expert Lens is not worth equipping.

At a Glance (1/3):
You and your opponent are taking half the damage your opponent throws at you AT BEST, if and ONLY if your opponent ONLY uses light. Pretty risky to use for such mediocre reward. And then there's the off chance that it might break.

In-Depth (1/4):
Unfortunately, apart from Sword of Thigl, Flask of Liquid Light, and Kaylas Hat, you're not really going to see much massive light. Additionally, Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield is generally used so frequently that SoThigl has now taken/shares the niche that Sword of Skardsen performs - as a sneak attack weapon, except light has multiple additional counters (Superior Reflection Shield, Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise, Dark Faerie Collar, Jhudoras Bewitched Ring, Dusty Magic Broom, Jhudoras Cursed Sword, and Air Faerie Crown!) whereas dark faces a shield and two dual duties (Ghostkershield, Ring of the Lost, and most notably, Hanso Charisma Charm). There are just so many answers to light offense and not quite enough light-stacking weapons to really warrant carrying this weapon in your set around.

Anyways, the way you use it is by predicting when your opponent will use SoThigl (or two weapons that have a lot of light in it), then use E-lens and another weapon that either attacks or blocks the remaining damage you take, thereby putting you in the lead for that round.

It's that simple. Not easy to actually execute, but it's better than taking a lot of light to the face without an answer for it (even though there are SO many answers for light).
