At a Glance (3/3):
Totals at ~22.5 icons of damage on average, with 10 of light, 5 of darkness, and ~7.5 physical. It also has the ability of fully blocking light. Truly a mighty weapon fit for a king!

In-Depth (4/4):
The sheer power of this weapon is extremely hard to counter and punish. Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour comes really close bringing this down to 0.5-5 icons, while Ghostkershield cuts it down to 7.5-12. You would think Kings Lens would be good as well, but it only cuts the light/dark damage in half, while still being behind by ~7.5 physical icons. Add in the fact that the sword itself can block k-lens' reflection, and we have trouble for the late king coltzan's choice weapon.

If you're feeling gutsy, this weapon stacks extremely well with Sword of Skardsen, Sword of Thigl, and Sword of White Lies. If you are fighting against someone with this, you had better also be packing high-end weaponry yourself. You will be in for a fight.

However, this weapon does have its vulnerabilities: Wand of the Dark Faerie, Illusens Staff, and Lord Kass Amulet (even though it's extremely unlikely you will be encountering the ammy anytime soon). All three weapons pick at this weapon's gloriously massive light damage (I-Staff though also drives it's dark damage). Having the sword yourself is also good, but it'd be like those cheesy, lame swordfight movies where two characters are just banging swords together instead of actually fighting (you know what I mean).

Price (1/2):
Meh, pricey high-end weapon is pricey. It is the best light-blocking dual duty weapon though, not counting the incr...

Pop For Your 'Points (2/3): This weapon can be 300-400 million easily, and yet that seems a fair price for a weapon that deals 20.5 - 25 icons at a time, while simultaneously blocking all light icons dealt to you.

In Battle (4/5): Skarls Sword enjoys an immense and comfortable level of power in the Battledome. Very few purely defensive weapons can handle Skarls Sword (this includes reflectors). Here is a short list of countermeasures that don't quite do the job: Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, Pirate Captains Hat, Ghostkershield, Superior Reflection Shield. Even Kings Lens can't hold back Skarls Sword by itself. However, depending on what you choose to accompany Skarls Sword, the opponent might be able to maneuver ahead with K-Lens and whatever second weapon they choose.

The defense on Skarls Sword is not bad, either. Expect to shred Sword of Thigl and Sword of White Lies effortlessly.

You don't get a free pass with Skarls Sword, however. Even though the icon types allow you to bypass a lot of defenses, some simply cannot be circumvented. Illusens Staff and Wand of the Dark Faerie both create problems for Skarls Sword.

Factoring in the self-damage Illusens Staff creates for itself in this situation, Skarls Sword is only knocked down in icons by 2.5 dark. However, Illusens Staff increases its output by 7.5 dark icons. This means I-Staff runs from 21.1 - 26.5 here (far above its usual output) and Skarls Sword ranges from 18 - 22.5 icons. Wand of the Dark Faerie is far more straightforward: strip 7.5 light icons from Skarls Sword and slap it on Wand of the Dark Faerie's already immense p...
