|Golden Garfir Helm is an underwhelming shield that just barely might in come in handy for a new battler on a budget.|
This weapon can be found for roughly 15k on the Shop Wizard and blocks 5 Fire icons and 5 Light icons. 10 total icons of defense is not very respectable these days, considering 9, 10, and 11-icon offensive weaponry can also be obtained off the Shop Wizard, such as Scroll of Ultranova, Scroll of the Fool, and Scroll of Knowledge.
The fact that weapons in Golden Garfir Helm's price range can muster up this kind of offense means that the Helm needs to be blocking to its fullest potential every time it is used. That proposition is easier said then done. Even then, this weapon is still only keeping pace unless the user's defense boost is superior to the opposing strength boost.
Fire defense can be hard to come by at such a low price, and Light icons are common as well, meaning Golden Garfir Helm could be put to work to stop attacks from weapons like Scroll of Ultranova, Flask of Liquid Fire and Golden Compass.
If Golden Garfir Helm provided a little more defense, any icon, any amount, then it would have been a nice beginner shield. Unfortunately, Golden Garfir Helm is stuck in mediocrity; it is not quite weak enough to be horrible, but the ceiling for this weapon is still low. Most new battlers can just steer clear of this one.

Being R97 the price of this
This item cuts through a Flask of Liquid Fire and parts of the Magma Blaster, Energy Blaster and many other items with these icon types. The sheer amount of icons is enough to hold back most blasts from these icon types at the level you would expect to be using this.
Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
This is an upgraded version of the Flaming Oven Gloves... I have altered my ratings just as I said, see. Ain't I nice.
Other Points (1 Bonus)
Few other items block THIS MUCH fire and light on their own, but together?
Price went down! So this is pretty nice
