Ratings - Shoyru Grappling Hook
Rating: | It’s 2023, and stealing has been broken in the Battledome for 10 years now :( This rating is to intentionally tank the average score for this item; I will update my review if stealing ever gets fixed. Rated on October 4, 2023 |
Rating: | This weapon will only be rated for Regular 1P/2P use, since it doesn't have any niche or league use. Price (0/3): A bit too costly for what it does, considering.... Power (2/5): Purple Sticky Hand does the same as this without the Species restriction. The only real bonus is that it doesn't go to your opponent afterwards, and if it did, it'd be unlikely they have a Shoyru. Uniqueness (0/2): The aforementioned hand takes away any uniqueness this item might possess. Overall It's a nice option for stealing, but there's a better, generic one already. Because of that its final rating is 2/10. Rated on May 31, 2020 |
Rating: | Price/power (5/5): At the time of writing, this costs as much as the equivalent Purple Sticky Hand, which is basically the benchmark for non-100% stealing items. Tactical (3/5): Unlike the Sticky Hands, your opponent will not receive this hook after you steal something (not that they'd be able to use it anyway, since this is for Shoyrus only). The only remaining question is whether stealing is an essential part of a Battledome set. I'd say it's highly situational, but if you do manage to steal a good item it could essentially cripple your opponent for the rest of the battle. If you don't steal anything good (or fail to steal anything at all), you're wasting a slot. Bonus (1/1): Good species weapons are few and far in between. This is one of the few. Closing remarks: Always check prices, but there will come a time when the retiredPurple Sticky Hand becomes more expensive than this. Your next upgrade would be the Heavy Robe of Thievery, which has a steep agility requirement. Rated on September 30, 2013 |
Rating: Rating History ▼ | Stealing still doesnt work so this review has been reduced dramatically. Price/Power (2/5) 60% stealing puts it up as high as the popular Purple Sticky Hand, but does so at a much higher cost. Countermeasures (5/5) Unlike a sticky hand, this stealer does not return anything to the opponent. Knowing this, it can cripple a set but leave yours entirely untouched. Alternatives, Upgrades or Downgrades The Purple Sticky Hand naturally offers a much better value for money non-species stealer, but with a large penalty. The Heavy Robe of Thievery offers a much higher percentage chance and retains the countermeasure ability but comes at the cost of stat points and price. Other Points (None) A solid stealer for Shoyrus, no penalties or bonus points. Final Thoughts Pricey species stealer which offers an alternative to the sticky hands. Rated on November 20, 2012.
