Rating:

Price/power (0/5): Significantly more expensive than other light-blocking options.

Tactical (1/5): Fractional defense and only 6 attacking icons? Not worth your trouble.

Bonus (0/1): As easy to block as any other weapon. It's not a scaled-down version of the Glittery Faerie Dust or anything.

Closing remarks: If you want a dual-duty that defends against light, get an Ancient Gnarled Wand, Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal, Ultimate Negg Hammer, or something along those lines.

Price/Power (1/5)
6 Icons attack and almost 3 icons defense may seem good to the casual observer, but when comparing the price of this item to its power it falls short.

Countermeasures (0/5)
Darkness is relatively easily blocked and as physical both while still dealing damage, from a 1P perspective light damage isn't dealt enough to warrant a blocker this weak either.

Alternatives, Upgrades or Downgrades:
Due to the over-saturation of the higher Rusty Lamppost prize during tale of woe it is actually cheaper to get then this weapon. Besides that, dual duty wise the cheaper Golden Compass offers better value for money.

Other Points (3 Bonus)
This item is a retired plot prize which gives it points, but is ALSO one of the few animated items on Neopets. Bonus points all round!- but it still isn't a good item.

Final Thoughts
It certainly is a good looking item and not too weak. But is crushed under the weight of it's competition.
