Price/Power (2/5)
Price is low but so is the power. You know I am not a fan of dual duties OR species items so my score here should come as no surprise.

Countermeasures (2/5)
This knocks back a small part of the Scroll of the Fool and the Barbat Throwing Star but both of them can still hit more then you could with these glasses. Now days there are so many options in the 10-11 icon range that all it takes is changing weapon to crush this.

Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
Realistically given the price of this you are most likely looking for something cheap... The Scroll of Ultranova offers the same attacking icons but then bunch more! If you want to keep the darkness move up to the Golden Compass instead.. May be a bit more expensive but realistically the goal here is to be keeping up with everyone else and now days 6 icons attack just isn't enough.

Final Thoughts
Considering this item came out before customisation, not much use for xray glasses!*

*yes I do realise what x-rays are and that even if this was possible it wouldn't be used in the way they are in popular culture*

Cybunny X Ray Glasses is better than the average species weapon, but its role is still limited.

These glasses inflict 3 icons each of Fire and Light while also blocking 3 Dark icons. 9-total icon Dual Duties are not as useful as they once were, thanks to the fact that beginner offensive weaponry starts out at 9+ icons these days. (Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer and Scroll of Ultranova are two examples of dirt cheap, powerful starter weaponry.)

This can be problematic for weapons like Cybunny X Ray Glasses, as they must utilize there defensive icons whenever used in order to keep the pace with weapons at the lowest of levels. Low cost weapons featuring Dark offense include Prickly Potion, Ramtors Spellbook, Jittery Jipple Pear Potion, Scroll of the Fool, and Halo of Devilpuss.

At a price of under 1,000NP, Cybunny X Ray Glasses is an OK buy for new Cybunny battlers, but it will be quickly outgrown. This weapon will play a very small role in even a basic set, and Golden Compass is a more sensible and not far off upgrade.

Rating History ▼
Price/power (1/5): It's like a mini Golden Compass. While it's cheap, it's beaten by the Gilded War Hammer.

Tactical (3/5): Comes out even against most weapons that deal dark at this level. Just watch out for weapons that block fire or light, such as the Ancient Gnarled Wand, Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal, and the Scarab Ring.

Bonus (0/1): Unfortunately the value of this weapon is killed by icon inflation.

Closing remarks: When you can, upgrade to a Golden Compass.
