|Overview: A long time ago, this weapon was actually pretty decent, but now it's just plain weak. Also, I don't really like carrots that much...|
The Good: It's a pretty cool weapon in theory. Mono-type weapons are always difficult to fully block unless they're anticipated. The Carrotblade, if a little stronger, would be good at drawing out a Shield of Pion Troect or Pirate Captains Hat for a nice big hit as a follow-up.
The Bad: The Carrotblade is simply too weak to draw out big shields. Even some cheap weaponry like Stone Foam Finger could beat this out unless the user was extremely lucky. Being retired means that the price will be expensive and increasing. For mass earth, Skarls Hasty Mace or Sword of Thare.
The Ugly Truth: Besides being kinda neat, the Carrotblade is far surpassed in power by cheaper Hidden Tower alternatives. My advice is to steer clear of carrots... er... I mean the Carrotblade...

An interesting blade in theory which is obscenely expensive thanks to being both retired and part of another weapon.
This can be entirely blocked by the Shield of Pion Troect and other full earth blockers, it also doesn't really provide enough icons to justify the huge price tag.
Alternatives Upgrades or Downgrades
This can very literally be upgraded from a chesu to a herdy- I mean, from its carrotblade base into a Noxious Carrot Blade by cooking in a Hubrids Noxious Blade. But it still isn't really worth it. Personally I would suggest moving to an anagram sword, unless you REALLY want the Noxious blade and plan on facing a LOT of lupes.
Other Points (2 Bonus)
One for being retired, another for being a vegetable.
My girlfriend eats carrots like bugs bunny (quantity, not in the same way), I bet she would just chow down on this weapon instead of using it in combat.
